Lost Media From ibiblio Blog

Hello!

I hope you are doing well. A group of students uploaded a project on the Goldsboro bombing 26 years ago, and I was wondering if the interview footage was still buried on your servers somewhere? I was wondering whether the interview footage—particularly Dr. Dietrich Schroeer’s interview—might still exist in your archives or on an old laptop somewhere. The .ram file links on the website ( https://www.ibiblio.org/bomb/video.html ) unfortunately no longer seems to work, and I would be incredibly grateful if there was any possibility of recovering the footage. It would mean a great deal to me for sentimental reasons.

I completely understand that this is a request about a project from many years ago, and I truly appreciate you even taking the time to read this message or look into it. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Wishing you all the best,
Srija

P.S. I attempted to send this through the help request form on the website, but this function does not seem to be working.

Hello! You were correct that the streaming functionality was not working. The .ram files have been transcoded to .mp4 and the relevant pages updated to point to them directly rather than to a (now defunct) streaming server. If you still want the original ram files, please let us know and someone will send you an email with them as attachments. However, you should be able to watch the videos now with any modern web browser.
