Karen et al,
I’m finding that the web server for the “confluence” project is often failing - returning an “internal server error” when a user uses our “submit.php” script to upload multiple large files. The problem usually does not occur when the user uploads just a single file, or when the user uploads multiple small files.
Thus, the problem seems to be a timeout-related issue. The web server seems to be timing out large (long) uploads.
You can see an example of this error around 04:32:40 (Eastern Daylight Time) on Sunday May 31. If you look at your web server log around that time, you should see an error for “submit.php”. After that time, there were several other successful “submit.php” runs (uploading smaller files). And before that time, there were also other errors for “submit.php” (as well as some successful runs).
Could you identify what is causing this problem, and adjust the appropriate web server parameter(s) (e.g., timeout) so that it is less likely to happen again.
Ross.
