If you control DNS for your ibiblio-hosted domain, this is a BREAKING CHANGE, and you MUST take action by confirming your DNS on the 22nd of June, 2026. Read on for details.
Networking changes on the UNC-CH campus mean that we must re-IP the IPv6 address for the name vhost.ibiblio.org. The current address is:
2610:28:3090:3000:0:bad:cafe:41
And on the morning of the 22nd of June, 2026 at 10am Eastern time, the address will become:
2606:f640:6000:321::bad:cafe:41
For domains of the form collection.example.org which have a CNAME or ALIAS to vhost.ibiblio.org, no action is required. There may be a brief interuption on the morning of the 22nd as DNS updates propagate.
HOWEVER. If you host a domain of the form example.org with ibiblio, and you have a AAAA record in your DNS provider pointing to the current IPv6 address, on the morning of the 22nd you must change it. Do NOT change it early. This will break your site!
